FROM THE SINGLE VINEYARD
TO PRECISION IN THE GLASS

Our passion lies in translating the uniqueness of each single vineyard into precise, expressive wines. Our sites are among the highest-elevation vineyards in the southern Kremstal, complemented by our vineyards in the Wachau. Exciting contrasts are guaranteed.

EICHBÜHEL

Kremstal | Village wine: Krustetten | Size: 21 ha | Elevation: 257-348 m

Our highest vineyard — our vineyards reach up to 350 meters above sea level. In this site at Krustetten, a constant breeze blows, while the surrounding forests provide an extra touch of freshness. This allows the grapes to ripen slowly and steadily, producing wines of exceptional complexity. Grüner Veltliner here shows spicy, taut, yet creamy character.
The subsoil is distinctive: it is dominated by the conglomerates of the Hollenburg-Karlstetten Formation, composed of materials once deposited by the ancient Traisen River — consolidated rubble, gravel, and sand, partly overlain by loess.

Frauengrund

Kremstal | Village wine: Krems, Krustetten | Size: 64 ha | Elevation: 214-316 m

Wine has been cultivated here for more than 500 years: Ried Frauengrund, one of the Kremstal’s oldest vineyards, is perfect for classic Grüner Veltliner. Its meters-thick Ice Age loess stores water and nutrients exceptionally well, while also giving the wines a delicate, refined spiciness.

GOTTSCHELLE

Kremstal | Village wine: Furth | Size: 35 ha | Elevation: 216-272 m

One of the most renowned vineyards in the Kremstal, Gottschelle sits on a plateau at the foot of Göttweig Hill and is full of fascinating contrasts. In many areas, the Ice Age loess reaches several meters in thickness, while in other spots the crystalline subsoil dominates, as in our steep northern terraces. The gneiss and granulite rocks lend the wines a distinctive saline character. The temperature contrasts are striking as well: warm and sunny by day, while at night, cool breezes from the surrounding forests bring freshness and relief.
The name Gottschelle derives from Goetschen, a term in Salzburg dialect meaning “sharp ridges on a mountain crest.”

Goldberg

Kremstal | Village wine: Krems | Size: 2 ha | Elevation: 250 – 265 m

True to its name, Hollenburger Goldberg is a treasure among our vineyards. Its unique position — sunny yet surrounded by cooling forests — makes it ideal for Riesling. The special microclimate, with pronounced temperature swings, further enhances its suitability. The soils are shaped by the conglomerates of the Hollenburg-Karlstetten Formation, composed of materials once carried here by the ancient Traisen River — consolidated stones, gravel, and sand, overlaid by Ice Age loess.

Kremser Kogl

Kremstal | Village wine: Krems | Size: 46 ha | Elevation: 214-315 m

An ideal site for spicy, elegant Grüner Veltliner, Ried Kogl takes root on the sparse conglomerates of the Hollenburg-Karlstetten Formation and limestone-influenced loess. This contributes to the wines’ characteristic minerality. The term Kogl refers to a conical hill. The vineyard’s terraces vary in elevation, reaching up to 315 meters above sea level, and are bordered on several sides by cool forested zones. These factors cause significant nighttime temperature drops, enhancing both fruit expression and elegance.

LEITEN

Kremstal | Village wine: Krustetten | Size: 14 ha | Elevation: 228-279 m

Our coolest site — pure cool climate. Ried Leiten is made up of countless small parcels, stacked atop one another to form a unified whole. The slope is so steep that some terraces are only a few rows wide. The microclimate in our vineyards is extremely cool, with a trench and natural spring running directly beneath them. Large temperature swings between day and night add further complexity. These conditions are ideal for Riesling, which can fully develop its character and ripeness here.

Neuberg

Kremstal | Village wine: Krustetten | Size: 24 ha | Elevation: 258 – 324 m

One vineyard, many layers: small terraces stack upon one another, all facing southeast. The vines grow partly on weathered granulite, but mostly on deep loess – Ice Age rock dust that stores water and nutrients exceptionally well. In our Neuberg vineyards, the loess also contains a significant proportion of limestone. This allows the grapes at Neuberg to ripen consistently, producing Grüner Veltliner with ripe fruit aromas, elegance, and a refined spiciness.

SILBERBICHL

Kremstal | Village wine: Furth | Size: 15 ha | Elevation: 207-254 m

A vineyard with history — first mentioned as a single site in 1562. Its name derives from the mica (silver) found in the deeper soil layers and its location on a hill (Bichl). Our vineyards are situated on the Kremstal side, where the soil is leaner. Combined with a south-east-facing aspect, this creates ideal conditions for Riesling.
