Grüner Veltliner Krems Kremstal 2019
Origin and Terroir
The grapes for this Grüner Veltliner originate from our vineyards, which are situated around and in the 1000-year-old wine town of Krems. For centuries the vineyards along the Danube have offered a diverse terroir from mighty loess soils to bare primary rock – perfect conditions for a complex Grüner Veltliner. The climate is also a factor which contributes to this development and with the cold flows of air at night from the Waldviertel and the warm Pannonian temperatures during the day, a clear fruit is developed.
Vinification
The grapes were harvested in September and pressed without a long period of maceration. This resulted in a very fruity and fresh must with pleasant flavor. The fermentation took place temperature-controlled in steel tanks. After maturing on the fine lees, the wine was bottled in January.
