Riesling Ried Goldberg Kremstal Reserve 2018
Origin and Terroir
The small single vineyard “Goldberg” faces south and is characterized by chalky conglomerate rock in the subsoil. Its warm microclimate supports the ripening process of the grapes and develop wines with a full body and high complexity.
After a careful selection, only the best grapes were harvested for our Riesling Goldberg. These fully ripened, flavor intense grapes were gently processed after a short maceration time. The steel tank fermentation was completed in a temperature-controlled environment. By the middle of January the wine was racked to 500 l oak casks were it was allowed to mature on the fine lees. During this time the wine had the chance to develop its characteristic aroma before being bottled.
Strong yellow in the glass, aromas of ripe white peaches and orange zest, fine spicy terroir notes, very fruity, fine acidity and structure; pineapple, ripe apricot and honey notes on the palate, a wine with good length and aging potential.
