Origin and Terroir The grapes originate from the single vineyard Leiten in the southern Kremstal. With its southern exposure, a gradient of steep 25% and weathered primary rock, it forms a magnificent Riesling vineyard site. Due to the closeness to the Danube river, there are high temperature fluctuations between night and day which give the wines elegant fruity aromas. Vinification The fully ripe grapes were harvested in mid-November at 26 °KMW. In the cellar they were destemmed and gently pressed. The temperature-controlled fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks. The wine was racked and matured on the fine lees until the end of March. This gave the Beerenauslese enough time to develop its typical aroma before it was bottled. Tasting notes The Beerenauslese has a bright golden yellow colour. In the nose it reveals notes of ripe apricots and honey. On the palate it has a wonderful sugar acidity balance. Drink and Meal Recommendation The Riesling Beerenauslese goes well with various desserts, such as apricot dumplings. Moreover, it is a perfect accompaniment to cheese variations. A special wine for special occasions.
