ORIGIN AND TERROIR
The red grapes for this Zweigelt originate from vineyards around the Göttweiger Berg in the southern Kremstal. The vines are mostly planted on warm gravel soils with a substantial loess layer. The influence of the warm Pannonian climate from the east, along with the microclimate of the Danube Valley, positively affects the ripening of the grapes.
VINIFICATION
In the cellar, the selectively harvested grapes were destemmed and underwent a traditional maceration fermentation, during which alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation occurred simultaneously. After approximately two weeks, the wine was pressed and further aged before bottling.
TASTING NOTES
Medium ruby garnet. Subtle spice on the nose, intense cherry on the palate. A very round Zweigelt with a lively fruit character.
Food and Drink Recommendations
This wine is not only a wonderful companion to red meat—it also pairs perfectly with flavorful cheeses and a wide variety of pasta dishes!
