ORIGIN AND TERROIR
The red grapes for this Zweigelt originate from vineyards around the Göttweiger Berg in the southern Kremstal. The vines are mostly planted on warm gravel soils with a substantial loess layer. The influence of the warm Pannonian climate from the east, along with the microclimate of the Danube Valley, positively affects the ripening of the grapes.
VINIFICATION
For this Zweigelt, the grapes were selectively harvested. In the cellar, the grapes were destemmed and underwent a traditional maceration fermentation, during which alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation took place simultaneously. After approximately three weeks, the wine was pressed and further aged. Part of it matured in stainless steel tanks, while the rest spent time in new, one-year-old, and two-year-old wooden barrels. Following the maturation period, the wine was finally bottled.
TASTING NOTES
Bright ruby garnet with aromas of ripe cherries. On the palate, subtle spice, a full-bodied texture, and well-integrated oak. The finish is powerful and long, with excellent aging potential.
