Grüner Veltliner Steinmauer

Origin and Terroir

The grapes are from our ecologically run vineyards situated at the east end of the Wachau valley. Here the character of the Grüner Veltliner has the potential to develop due to the high temperature fluctuations between night and day. This unique climate ensures the development of the very characteristic flavour of this grape. Not only the climate but also the closeness to the Danube and the hearty clay soil contribute to the refined taste.

Wine Making

Harvest time for this particular Grüner Veltliner was the beginning of October. Special attention was given to the full ripening of the grape and only fully matured grapes were allowed to travel from the vineyard to the press. After the grapes were cut from the vine the fruit was rushed to the cellar to be immediately pressed. The steel tank fermentation was completed in a temperature controlled environment.

Wine Description

Light green-yellow in the glass, opens up with a delicate spice in the nose and fine apple nuances. Superb fruit on the palate. A light and refreshing Veltliner. Alcohol: 12,5 %vol Residual sugar: 1,5 g/l – dry Acidity: 6,5 g/l

Drink and Meal Recommendation

Stored best at 8 bis 10° C Aging potential: 3 to 5 years Serve chilled as an aperitif! Also the perfect companion for spicy meals or Asian cuisine and salads. Naturally as a party wine consumed by the glass this wine will not disappoint!   svensk version: Grüner Veltliner Steinmauer
