Origin and Terroir Laurenz is a blend of Zweigelt and ‚St. Laurent, two typical Austrian grape varieties. The vines are nurtured by gravel in the subsoil, which is covered by a massive layer of loess. The special influence of the pannonian climate from the east and the microclimate, characteristic for the danube valley, positively influence the ripening of the grapes. Vinification The grapes for the Laurenz were harvested in October. In the cellar, the grape material was destemmed and a classical mash-fermentation started. Several days later and after fermentation, the wine was pressed. The wine was introduced to a malolactic fermentation. Laurenz was matured in big oak barrels for 12 months before bottling. Tasting notes Medium ruby, fresh raspberry and sour cherry aroma in the nose and continuous with a crisp beery fruit flavor on the palate, perfect balance of fruit and precious wood, trendy and modern. Drink and Meal Recommendation This wine is a well accompaniment to beef and pork roasts. It also well compliments hearty cheeses. Moreover, it is also perfect to serve by the glass.
